UPCOMING EVENTS
Join Berkshire Magazine editor Anastasia Stanmeyer and poet Jessica Piazza in a session of talking, reading, sharing, and writing. Jessica is professor at the University of Southern California and is the most recent poet-resident at the Amy Clampitt house in Lenox. During those six months, she has been writing, meditating, and exploring. She will share some of her work and talk about the importance of writers—anybody—to take time off and let their mind wander. Workshop participants will spend time writing about what makes them feel pressured, what frees them, what calms them, what hinders their inner creativity, and what unleashes it. Physiologically speaking, freestyle writing slows you down and helps clear your mind. In meditation, thoughts surface and dissipate. In writing, the creative expression of these thoughts is recorded and allows for more robust inner expression.
